Anyone else's Door Locks sound like a machine gun?? Ratta Tat Tat
My door locks when I lock them have been making this ratta tat tat sound for about two weeks now. Sounds sorta like they are sticking? Anyone else had this happen to them?? Tends to get a bit anoying
my **** does the same thing!!!!!
its usually the drivers side, i dont' know, i think its the anti lock thing...like how u hold the handle open to lock the door, but it goes away sumtimes depends.
does anybody know what can be done? should we like take the panals off and look?

my passenger side door does it too. I found it was due to binding with the plastic around the lock itself. I took off the plastic around the handle/lock and grinded (or is it ground) away some material. It seems to help but sometimes i get the machine gun back. i took the panel off before and it never does it when the door panel is off. if u put a little resistence against the lock motor seems like it goes postal
no permanent fixes yet, but i'd try leaving the small plastic piece off the lock/handle area for a week or so and see if that's what's binding up your lock, then u can grind it or try to mount it so it doesn't bind....

sounds like the gears inside the lock motor are wearing out. That sound is usually an indication that they are about to stop working...
Anthony K,
i do have an alarm wired to mine
what does that have to do with anything?
Type R dude,
so does that mean i need to buy a new actuator/motor for my passenger side doorlock?

take the panel off and usually there is something that is caught over the locking mechanish piece the locks it. once the panel is off u can see where the noise is coming from and its an easy fix.
i like it when it scares the **** outta people when their at the door....their like "WTF"
Seriously though, mine does the same thing when my brother crosses sits on the passenger seat w/ his legs crossed and knees against the door lock. I'd try to lock it and because his knees are jammed against the door lock, it doesnt click forward, hence, the sound of Americans raiding Terrorist HQs.
So it would make sense that the gears are going bad, in your situation at least.
