having trouble removing rear strut assy. 94 lude..HELP
Obviously remove the two bolts in the trunk, separate the ball joint, remove the bottom shock bolt and apply pressure to the rotor/hub to give you some more room and pull that sucker on out. Use wd-40 if bolts stick.
You must use a pitman arm puller to separate the ball joint to prevent any damage. Do not pry it with a screwdriver or force a wedge in it. It's very easy to rip the rubber boot if you don't use the pitman arm puller. Autozone stocks it in their loan-a-tool program.

Can you be more specific - what is holding you up? Tough bolts?
And while its recommended to use the arm puller - I just tapped the ball joint with a hammer while pulling on it and it pulled right out.

I was trying to do it with out splitting the ball joint. Did that and it came out fine, but that ball joint is bad (it just spins when i try to torque the castle nut on) so I told the guy to go get a new one tonight and not ride on it more that a day. Have any of you had trouble with that ball joint doin that?
There's another way to do it so that you don't have to mess with ANY balljoints.
In the trunk, remove the two nuts that hold in the upper control arm. Then push the bolts down and out of the trunk. You should now be able to swing the upper control arm out of the way and you can then remove the shock/spring assembly.
