removing rear defroster electrical contacts?

most of my rear defroster electrical contact lines (dark red/orange) are shot and i want to just remove them. is there any way to peel these off or are they formed into the glass. thanks.

only one way to find out...

go to home depot or lowe's and buy a few razor blades....

you can scrape all you want to. Surface stuff will come off but about half of the wire is in the actual glass. So yeah, you're stuck with 'em.
