stock calipers
how good are the stock OEM calipers?
Im trying to decide on staying with the OEM calipers with big brake rotors or just get a set of the Wilwood Big Brake kit off of Summit Racing for 650.00.

i love OEM wear equpment (brakes, axels, ext). the great thing about OEM is you can find it cheaper then after market part exp when dealing with brakes. whith that said i say you stay OEM and do this.
search around and find out which VW carrado (sp) rotor are the 11.1" rotor in 4x100. (these rotor are the same thing as ITR/prelude vtec/accord V6 rotors) its just they are in 4x100 lug pattern which i assume is what you are running.
second option for rotors is to purchase prelude vtec rotors and either YOU drill them out to 4x100 or have a machine shop do it. i don't suggest this but there are a few people running this setup. i perfer the first mentioned because you can just go to kragen or where ever and get your rotors.
now to deal with calipers, go with the ITR/prelude vtec/ accord V6 in 94. (easiest thing to do is order a caliper for a 93 prelude VTEC) these can be had remanufactured for 50 bucks after a core charge.
so there is your basic "big brake" setup OEM style for 200 bucks. now i would HIGHLY suggest you up grade your MC and while your at it run some SS lines. since you saved all that money by going OEM over the willwood setup.
if you tell me what car you have i could help you with the MC and which one you should purcahse. (i need to know car/model/ and if it has ABS or nonABS.
ooo ya if you need the MC it can be had for under 100 bucks.

Specifically stock/OEM Honda GSR/LS, Si coupe, & ITR brakes & pads are good ****!
I don't know what kind of racing you do, but I've personally always ran a 95 GSR complete brake system (including 1" mc/booster) on my past & current EG, and they've never failed/dissapointed me once! I'm into road racing and I'm actually suprised as to how well these brakes hold up. The stock GSR rotors don't warp fast and I use OEM brake pads. One thing I do use is a different type of brake fluid - ford super duty - I've never boiled that stuff once.
For what I'm into, OEM GSR disc brakes rule.
I always wanted to try lighter weight big brake kit and I have a Wilwood FastBrakes 11" big brake kit, which I've lagged for a longtime installing, cuz I've turned into a lazy ***

as of right now im Drag racing but i know for a fact that soon i'll be doing SCC/auto-x.
I might go with the 4x100 VW carrado rotors, some 93 Vtec Lude calipers, and SS lines
I can still run stock wheels right?

you mean SI wheels? yes you can run them and with the VW rotors im not sure about the clearance with the spokes, but its not a big deal if they touch alil angle grinder and 4 mins of work takes car of it
if you scroll down to the bottom of this page you will see what im talking about granted i have different wheels and hub setup but its all relative.

you can also do some sort of washer trick or something, i couldn't really figure it out, so im not the best person to ask about it, but it is addressed in that post above
