my dad has a 91 accord automatic and it will go threw first fine and second fine but wont shift out of second. i check the tranny fluid it is fine. i was told a switch might have something to do with it anyone know what switch this could be and where it is. any help would be nice

 

It can be more complicated that just a switch.

2 questions:

Did it just start doing this?

Is the check engine light on?

actually it did a while back and didn't get driven for like a year and then my dad got it and has been driving it for about 3 weeks with no problems. and now it started with no engine light or any other lights.
