Default Rough idle on 92 Accord EX

I have a question regarding my 92 Accord EX. The whole car vibrates very badly when I am at a complete stop, and even WORSE when I put it into reverse. It is VERY annoying. I have heard that a number of things could cause this, such as the balancing belt being a little off, but I had my timing belt and all replaced about a month ago, so I don't think that's the case. I would like some input, so that I can try to pinpoint the problem and get it fixed before I go insane lol. If anyone knows about this or has had the same experience, PLEASE repsond!!! Thanx!!

Does you idle fluctuate? Or does it sink? If it doesn't do neither... You might have bad mounts like me and the other hundred H-T members that have a 4th gen. Bad mounts meaning the rubber insides of the mounts are corroted and no longer help to hold the engine from moving. Jyst my $.02 Good luck

It doesn't do either, it's just noticably worse when it's in reverse. My b/f said he thinks the motor mounts look fine, but I think I'll get someone else to check them to make sure because I know that is a big prob with these cars- esp when they get older. Mine has 225k on it, so that very well could be the prob...at least I'm hoping that's ALL it is!

Ugh... You cant really just look at mounts and tell that they are bad... Well not the rear mount at least. But coming from a 4th gen its probably bad. For our 4th gens (90-93 accords) I've heard the main problem is the rear motor mount. The only bad thing is that mount cost $$$ because it has vacuum lines coming out of it.

I'm thinking it's the rear mounts too. How expensive are the mounts? I know someone that could install them for me, so hopefully that will cut the cost a little bit.
