Prelude, 4th gen 95..FOG LIGHTS-install!! RELAY IS GOING CRAZY!!!help
OK...
Wuzzupper..
I am installing the fog lights in my 95 Lude...
I bought a $4.00 relay a Autozone (4 prong) standard relay...
I haven't found a FOG LIGHT SWITCH just yet>OEM that is....
So I tried to use a jumper wire to jump the curcit @ the 6 prong white male connection under the console...
I jumped the RED/Yellow wire to the RED/green wire... the other wire is an orange wire for the switch to light up...
The foglights did turn on... But the RELAY was BUZZZZZZZZZ'n like crazy!!!
I about crapped my pants!!!
It was loud!!
So I used an after market switch from pepboyz... I wired it up and the relay did the same thing!!!!
WHAT/ WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?????
WHAT makes a relay buzzzzzzzz???

a relay buzzes when the current is making the magnet change direction at the same cycle rate that the current is flowing. Each part of that buzz is actually a click. anyway.. i ran into the same thing when installing my fogs. you're running the wrong wires...so let me try and explain.
oh just before i begin..if you're not so knowledgeable about relays let me break it down for your basic understanding. a relay (4-pin) is a circuit that contains a coil with a magnet that turns on and off a power flow. The coil charge is what causes the magnet to close the circuit allowing power to run through the relay. When that coil has no power going to it, the magnet opens the circuit, killing the power that is trying to flow.
Don't mind the numbers on the image, it's just an example

The coil is on the right and that pushes panel closed to complete the circuit when it's charged by power (in this case, your corner lamps).
On the relay:
1: coil charge in
2: coil charge out (ground)
3: power source in
4: power source out (to the fogs)
if you're setting this up to be able to come on with the corner lamps.. there will be a single yellow wire that you'll want to jump to (1). (2)..run a wire to a bolt in the chassis to ground it. BE CAREFUL, cause if you disconnect the two yellow wires on the harness that are running together, you'll **** up your head lights.. they'll dim out and it's a real pain in the ***. so make sure youre using the yellow wire that's alone. Anyway, use the 12v power source and run a wire to the INput of your switch and run the OUTput of your switch to the (3) of the relay, and there should be a Green/Red wire that you'll jump to (4) that runs straight to the fogs if youre using the stock wiring that's already in place. Poof, no more buzzing and the fogs will work any time your corner lamps are on and the switch is in the ON position. Good luck and hit me up if you need any more help.

This is what I am working with. So are you saying I need to Cut the Blu/Red wire Source.. And groung the end thats hanging from the relay???
Or do I just run a wire from this to the in on my switch?
3 of that switch being the Red/Yellow
I am sort of following you, Can you give me like some sweet step by step.. Dump*ss proff??? Instuctions? Now that we will be using the Circuit from the Lude.. Might help me out better...
____________
Ok- If I am following your instructions right..
1)I need to CUT my BLU/RED wire being my power.
2)GROUND the end thats hanging from the relay, RUN the POWER (HOT) to my source in on the SWITCH.
3)Then run my Source OUT to the , RED/YELLOW Wire?.
That sould stop the buzz.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
Now for the YELLOW WIRE> IS THIS ON THE RELAY> ore some where else in the wireloom?

yeah i used that too, but the difference between my wiring instructions and the ones honda gives is the fact that my wiring allows for the fogs to be turned on without the headlights.... if you give me a day or so i promise ill find my wiring diagram that i drew up when i did my fogs. sorry for the delay in response ive been busier than hell.
