Default TE37

Will a TE37 15x7 with a 43mm offset clear a spoon caliper?

Hey I dont mean to start a debate, but I just bought TE37's 15x7 43mm offset. I insisted that I got 35mm to be safe to clear the caliper, but I just checked 10min ago. I put the rim on, fits perfect with the spoon caliper. It's not rubbing or hitting. I has like 3mm between the brake caliper and the rim. Is your information right? Because it fits. I was with you guys, with it not fitting, but it's weird how other people are having problems with fitment and I'm not.

1.) It fits? Interesting to say the least since almost every DC2R owner with Spoon calipers mentioned that it needs a spacer. But if it fits, congrats to you.

2.) Why post a question regarding TE37s/Spoon calipers in regards to fitment when you already had it in your driveway/garage and could've checked it yourself?

Is that on 5-lug set up or 4-lug setup? I can't tell from your user name.

Well, I was just going to listen to your advice first. I didn't want to go through the hassle of not being able to return the rims if they got scratched, etc. while putting them on. The setup is currently on a 5lug. Is it bad that it's close? Is it going to cause a problem? It's not touching, but you could put like three business cards between the caliper and the rim.

If the wheel is not touching the caliper, I don't see why you wouldn't want to use it. 3 business cards are probably less than 2mm or so... Enjoy the wheels & calipers.

If you torqued the wheels down and there is caliper clearance, you're good to go.

bingo!!!

jdmfactor, did you torque the wheels down? just simply putting it on will not tell you if it actually clears

Dont know how thick your business cards are, but you do realize the Spoon Brakes flexes out a bit when the brake pedal is pressed hard.

How so? The actual brake caliper is going to flex 3mm outward?

My +43 15x7 TE37's fit fine on a friends R with Spoon calipers as well...
I find it odd that it fits on some R's, but not on most.

I thought 15x7 fit, and 15x6.5 and 15x6 did NOT fit....

You should list your exact setup. I have te37, 15x7, +43 AND I have spoon calipers on my itr. The wheel will not fit without 2-3mm spacers.

Is this on an itr? Is the caliper correctly mounted using the washers on the inside? Is the caliper centered on the rotor?

Here's a pic using 5mm spacer:

Yeah everything is mounted correctly, the washers, caliper, etc are aligned fine. They fit, but it's close! it's not rubbing at all, is it bad if there close?

Yeah mine are 15x7's I'm still wondering if I should use a 3mm spacer. It doesn't touch, but is kinda close

I guess your 3 business cards are really thick to equal 3mm. Cause I can loosely fit about 10 regular sized business cards in 3mm.

But to answer you question about flexing outward, Have someone sit in your car and step on the brake hard and you will see how much it flexes out.

..... I will try to dig up the p/n off the box I have.

I never got an answer from the original poster though, what 5-lug, hub, and rotors are you using? EK specific spoon calipers?

if you want to torque the wheel down and not scratch the rim, wrap your lug nuts with some electrical or duck tape them put them on slowly.
but don't drive around with it like that,

This is sorta off the subject, but will 16x7" te37's in a 42mm offset clear the spoon calipers without spacers...?? I seen itrsport.com is running that set-up but I cannot contact him!

Any help is appreciated!
