Default vacum leak

alright i have a b18b, and i have a horrible vacum leak in my car, when i start the car it will shoot up to like 3500rpm and then will surge from 1500-3500, then after the car warms up it will only surge a little bit, or not at all, i have a FPR and i put a new vacum hose from that to the manifold and that didnt help, someone please help me with this, i need to fix this.

It shouldn't be too hard to find stick your head in by the intake manifold and listen for the leaks and if it's not there you might want to check the vacuum control box thing and the crise control lines.

BTW check your throttle linkage if it's too tight it might affect that too.

take some carb cleaner and spray all around the manifold, and everywhere downstream of the throttle plate. if you have a vacuum leak it will suck in the carb spray and the idle will drop. however, a high idle does not always mean a vacuum leak. check youre idle valve, youre tps and MAP.

yea carb cleaner works or propane from one of those cheap propane torches.... also starting fluid (ether) will work just take your time and do every line from end to end....may have a intake manifold gasket leak..... that test will work on it as well... good luck

does air-fuel mixture have anything to do with idle surging?
