Default InlinePRO's Daily Driven Turbo S2000

Went by InlinePRO today and spoke with John. They have a turbo kit being released soon which will push 18psi. At 12psi the car put down 350whp on the factory engine w/the InlinePRO headgasket, 575(good to 18-20psi) injectors & an AFC. I forget the number, but something like ~430whp at 18psi. Estimated cost for the kit is ~$5000.

I have about 2 minutes of good video, but its pretty crude. As soon as I find a video editer and make it prettier, I'll get it uploaded. All I can say...is wow.

Doh, watched the video again. It's 575(?) injectors with an AFC good up to 18psi(430rwhp), but is running 12psi on the street(350rwhp).

Last time I was at his shop I believe he said he was running stock injectors with ~6psi and was testing the limit of the factory fuel system. Sorry for the confusion.

Hmmm isn't that head gasket that they're using to drop compression putting undue stress on the timing chain???

Ooops don't wanna bring up the "head gasket to drop compression" holy war N/M

Running 18 psi with just a headgasket, 575 injectors, and AFC!!!???
I don't believe it sorry.
Nothing against you but I just don't believe it. You can't add enough fuel with the AFC to run 18 psi and just 575 injectors. They would have to have some ungodly pressure in the fuel rail to run that. If this kit would produce that much HP at that much boost for 5k they would be rich. I have never heard of this. CJB80 @ s2ki.com has invest 3 year and who know how much into his car with a built motor and EMS and just put down >550 to the wheels sorry to say but I raise the BS flag on this one.

You could always call InlinePRO and ask to speak with John, the owner. It's his S2k, and that's the test car for these kits.

I've got some videos of the car as well...

Anything is possible, but the longevity of a setup like that is questionable at best.

I like to have a setup where you're sure that your hardware can take it, and not be wondering about one thing or another.

Any pics of the setup?

I was told the same thing about his S2k. I've ridden in it, and it absolutly hauls ***!

He told me 350hp @ 12psi, and 450 at 18-20 psi. All I saw underhood was some injectors, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, and fuel pump. Vafc was also there. I'm sure he'll be running Hondata before too long.

Last I've heard on the hondata is that they've scrap the s2000 ecu project. They have problems with the immoblizer function.

Its because the ECUs are not programmable. and i think they were having problems finding a unit that would drive the direct ignition and something else, i forget.

I actully ran across the the turbo kit on an S this weekend, It wasnt john but a guy named sean who had it on his 00-01 berlina S. He said he was the first i guess to have it except for joh who had the prototype. The car and kit is extremly nice and well done and im actully looking into the kit now when final numbers are produced. Few things on my mind about it though.......He said something about the intercooler and its fitment and it took almost 5 hours alone just to get the intercooler to fit. Also some piping i.e. charge pipe has fitment issues or something like that also and its still waiting on piping that wouldnt work.

I was at Inline Pro with Nihilation and heard the same thing that Jon was saying about the S2000. I am also a Hot Rod student and ran a few numbers through some of our programs we have and it can be done. Everything that was on the car has been tested and nothing has broken. The car was totally sick and very fast. So watch the videos and dont be calling it BS. The car did have 575cc injectors, AFC, fuelpump(size unkown) and Jon est. compression with their headgasket at 9.5:1. The kit is amazing and so clean.. Enjoy... It made we want to go get a S2000 and turbo it right then and there..

It like living on the edge, running that much boost with just an AFC and FMU to tune with. I'm bet that its pushing high fuel pressure throught the fuel rail and injectors then just subtracting fuel with the AFC where they need to, but I believe this is the incorrect way to tune. Also using a thick head gasket to lower compression is like another band aid for the whole problem. Then again we can just wait and see when the kit is in production

Its hard to believe that InlinePro would push the S2k's limits that hard with just an AFC. FMU and a HeadGasket.... The proper way of doing it would be to put an AEM EMS and a Wideband 02 sensor in there and tune off that. That is the only way you can guarantee that you are tuning efficently. Also, I have never heard of a S2k headgasket that drops the compression that much... Running that much boost in an open decked motor just isnt what honda had in mind. I dont see that F20c lasting very long with that setup.

I have been working on my S2k Turbo for over a year now and there are so many limiting factors that needs to be looked at...

For instance...
I run 328 Rwhp before I added a 35 shot to it. The rear end for one will not handle many hard launches. You need to look at a stronger rear end.

The Clutch, will in no way handle the Tourque that kit will put down.

The MAP Sensor, cannot properly see the boost he is putting on there. The stock MAP sensor tops out at 12 psi.

Timing... (an important one) if he cant retard the timing in any way (or check to see if there is any knock) it will be tough to properly tune the car. Every car is different and letting a turbo kit come out testing the limits of the car without 1. a wideband 02 sensor 2. something that can adjust timing 3. somehow of checking for knock

If I read it right, I understand inlinepro was testing the limits of the stock fuel system. I can say that the fuel pump on the S2k is impressive... kept up with my S2k running 12psi and a 35 shot.

All and all I doubt InlinePro is going to provide all these things... There are alot of other parts that will be needed to cover for the added power... so if he is charging 5k for the kit... I can probably be certain there isnt any items that will be needed (like a better clutch and pressure plate).

But this is just my .02 cents

B.

Exactly, I've been running mine turboed for almost a year and with just an afc and FMU, I couldn't get the car running worth crap. After the EMS everything changed.
