What size shoe did Soichiro Honda wear? Just curious, because the Civic has horrible pedal placement - the guy must have had clown feet to heel-toe.
Where did you learn to heel-n-toe?
My little 10 1/2's can heel and toe any car in the Honda stable, and I drive 5-10 different cars a day, so I can say I have tried almost all of them.

He had bitty little feet so he could heal-toe in the classic way. After test driving a Corvette, I now hate my clutch even more than I used to hate my gas-brake placement. I mean, does such a tiny little car really need a clutch pedal throw that's worthy of an 18 wheeler?
I was going to ask you why you were mixxing the two different sizing measurements (since a 42 is really most like a 9.5 or so), and then I realized you were being facitious.
But anyways...

It's an economy car, not a racecar. Come on Alistair, why ask questions about the obvious?

The car companies started to place the pedals farther apart when some people (mostly brain dead elderly) started to "mis-step" on the wrong pedal. You have seen stories on TV where a confused older person mistakes the brake and gas pedals and drives into a building. Audi got whacked pretty hard on this issue about 20 years ago.
A set of cheap set of pedal covers makes the pedals larger and the space between the pedals smaller.

I guess I should be happy that I have litty bitty feet.

AUDI got tagged cause retards didn't understand how to work cruise control. That, and if you can blame the car for your accident, it could save you one hell of a lot of money.

Yeah, I remember that. Some idiot lady ran over her 5 year old kid in her Audi 5000 because she stepped on the wrong pedal, then she changed her story later and tried to say that the car just went driving off by itself.
Then once every Audi 5000 owner heard about this, they decided that any accident they had in their own car was the result of "unintended acceleration" by a faulty car, not the driver.
Then 60 Minutes ran some bullshit story where they rigged up an Audi 5000 to accelerate by itself and shot some footage of it to make it seem as though Audi 5000s were dangerous.
This caused Audi's sales in the United States to drop from 74,000 per year to less than 23,000 two years later - nearly bankrupting them.

I wear a size 15, i can heel toe, but the new "fangled way." I use the side of my foot for the gas. But I agree that the pedal placement isnt that bad, but I have pedal covers to help with heel toe-ing anyway.

Dang dude! With feet that size it's more like toe-toe.
Why in the world do you need pedal covers?

If your heel/toeing in an ITC car you're just wasting time.
Just remember that 2.5 years from now as you watch the back of my non-heel-toeing *** pull away from you Al.

hahahaaaa...yeah, I'm 6'7", so I cant heel toe the way you little guys heel toe because my legs are way to long. Because of this, I cant get my heel over to the gas while the ball of my foot is on the brake. So, without the pedal covers, my foot wont be able to reach both pedals since my foot stays vertical. Besides, pedal covers look cool

I think it's way overrated. At least in the cars I've driven on track..

You are right, All you need to do is stay on the gas, because you dont go fast enought to brake. Who needs brakes all it dose is slow you down.
I started to do heel/toeing on my Geo Metro. Thats the best car to learn how to race, if you can corner that thing on 3 wheels then you wont have any problems on the track.
