Default FINALLY my mounts are in... B16A swap to begin hopefully within 2 days

AZ Race & Machine mounts finally came in the mail today

Now, I thought I had the right place to buy my motor (I already chose one), but the bastard sold it to someone else 3 days ago. I will have to find another place since all the other first gen B16A motors look like they went through hell (broken pulleys, chipped valve covers, smashed dizzys.. etc).

Also, can someone confirm with me:
Is it true that automatic B16A's have different cams which limit the hp to 130??
I'm asking because the motor I was about to purchase HAD an auto tranny on it... and the seller said he'll just "slap on a cable YS1 on it". So his advertised "160 HP B16A" would not be true.

Anyone have any insight? I want to purchase my motor as soon as possible (even by tomorrow) but I need the TRUE information. Also, how can you tell if the motor (block/head) is previously from an auto car? Would the serial numbers under the "B16A Stamp" tell anything?

Sorry for such crazy questions.... I just want this swap to go smoothly... and I don't want to spend double the money for 130 hp.
Thanks

Also avoid the automatic ECU.

automatic b16s also had a valvetrain not designed for 8200 rpms. i.e. single valve springs on one side

You can check the numbers on the ecu , I believe the 001,002,003,004 etc are automatics. You can pop the top of the ecu, 4 screws later you are able to look inside and on the second board closest to the top will have MT or AT .

Make sure when they say they will slap a Cable YS1 tranny on there they don't put a USDM LS tranny.

I have a JDM YS1 tranny, gears are nice and short. on the HWY at 100km/h I'm reving at 4000rpm.

Doesnt that give horrible gas mileage?

Hey, where did you get your motor from? It looks to be in better shape than any of the other ones I saw at this place.

Also, do you think you can help me with this swap at your house? I'm trying to find a good place with people who know what they are doing... and reading your thread, I feel like you REALLY know what you are doing!

I just want to cut in here, and ask your opinion on the mounts, are they fairly decent mounts? How long did it take for them to ship them to you? Just wondering so I know which ones to go with when I do my B16 swap in 2 months time. People tell me to go with Hasport but they are so DAMN expesive, I guess for a reason though.

These mounts are AMAZING. (just used them myself) but they are STIFF. Not sure how the Hasport "street" ones compare but at Idle the car shakes and vibrates.

It took about 12 business days to get to me up here in Canada.

I recommend them , and they can be had for 350 w/ free hasport linkage from Hmotors when you buy a engine from them. They have a good Rep, read in the Hybrid section. Even if you dont go through H-motors they could be had for 375. Plus If you break a mount insert, Hasport will replace it no Questions Asked.

Ok, swap is not in two days.
It will be next Wednesday. I actually just found a new place that has over 20 B16A's in stock. They are also selling it for only $1300 CDN (w/ ecu, tranny, harness). Free shipping as well.
Oh my god, I can't wait! I'm going to have insomnia for a good 2 weeks

i dont know if anyone said this, but b16s (auto) dont rev as high, and have trannys that suck up more power than the manual variants. usually they're rated @ 152-155 hp i believe

so how would you know if someone swapped an auto to a manual and sold it. Cause damn if this is true some folks out there could have bought auto long blocks but just swapped to manual and they dont even know it.

I heard there was an article this in a SCC issue.
They dyno tested the auto B16 with manual tranny, and it was like 110 hp to the wheels. (i duno what the usual percentage is added for crank hp)
