Default wheel width for integra (auto-x)

all right all of those with knowlege and experience far beyond mine....i'm running an integra in auto-x (street mod) and would like to stay with a 15" wheel (ITR calipers), what's the best width to run with without worry of rubbing, etc.....i'm not lowered too much, probably around 2" thanks for all the help and input.

For SM, I would say 15x7.5 on 225/45/15 Hoosier or Kuhmo if you want to stick with 15" wheel size.

Try Kosei K-1s from Tire Rack. Ok looks wise cheap and light. I think they are 15X7 but you can get 15 X7.5 IIRC.

you don't want to rub or have minor issues with rubbing? 15x7 will be your best bet. a +38 kosei will be cheap, and shod with a 225 hoosier, you will have minor rubbing at full lock on the insides, and if you are very low, it will rub under full cornering load high center on the outside fender lip.

IIRC= If I Recall Correctly...

anyways, I'll be needing either 15" or 16" wheels fr autocross, with either 225/50-16 or 225/50-15 tires, but I'm still trying ot figure out all this section width stuff to make sure the commonly available 15x7" or 16x7" wheels would work. 7.5" wheels are hard to find

As Rodney said earlier...for autocross stay with 15 inch rims. The 15X7 Kosei is great for the money, if you want to kill the wallet order up some SSR Comps in 15X7 stack some 225s on them and go have fun on autocross courses.

yes. Actually I know someone who may be able to sell me a set of used 4x114.3 15x7" Enkeis for $100. Not as "nice" as the Koseis, but they get the job done I was just worried that I'd have a lot to lose by going with 7" instead of 7.5" if i were to go with 225mm tread width in the distant future (larger section width).

You going to this months Houston autocross event on Sunday? If you want, you could use my 16x7 Enkei's with 205/55-16 Azenis and see if you'd like a setup like that...

BTW, those tires almost match my stock diameter. Do you have the same bolt pattern as me (4x114.3mm)?

Sorry, didn't see you had a 4x114.3mm bolt pattern - thought Accords had 5X4.5" (114.3mm) bolt pattern... Well have fun at ATM then

i see in your sig you have an accord, so in your case a 225/50 is fine. unless you have major power, a 225/50 will be too tall for the average civic/integra.

yes, my question was whether or not putting 225/50 on a 7" wide wheel would would work, but I guess I'll be ok.

BTW, 225/50-15 on a 15" wheel would create a 1" smaller than stock rolling diameter. Should help me out when I'm stuck in second gear all the time, but I can't find anything in 225/50-15, hence the reason why I talk about 16" so much The only azeni available in 15" may have too small of a rolling diameter for my car (almost 2" smaller than stock).
