Just got the motor back in the car, and it wont rev over 1500.
As the topic says, i have a h22a in a civic. I just did the timing belt, and im sure the timing is dead on. But for some reason it wont rev past 1500?? did i mess up some wiring? what sensors would do this?
help me out, i want to drive my car.

does it idle really rough?
If I where you I would add an extra ground wire and see if it runs any better. I know when I put my motor back in my car after my clutch install I forgot to connect a ground wire and it wouldn't rev at all and idled really rough... If you look at night see if you notice any sparks... that's usually a surefire way of finding loose grounds.

not meaning to be an *** but did you connect the throttle linkage? cold Idle is about 1500rpm. Do you get any throttle response at all? ooo ooo or the Throttle position sensor. check that too.

Didn't you say on your original thread that you've got loose wiring harnesses that you don't know where they're supposed to go? Seems to me that'd be the obvious place to start.

You didn't give us much to work with. Why would you remove the wiring harness to do a timing belt anyway? If it worked before and doesn't now, what all did you change? The problem is probably related to one of the changes you made.
What codes does the eu throw? Sounds like the ecu is in limp mode, or mixture is WAY off. Try a different ecu, check sensors like MAP, TPS. Put a WB on it to see what the mixture is doing. If it is way rich then you probably have a sensor/ecu problem. If it is way lean you could have a sensor/ecu problem, or possibly a fuel supply problem.

Did you check your distributor??? After doing a B18 swap into a civic the motor wouldn't rev above 2500 and gradually dropped to 1200 as the limit. Very slow acceleration. Just an idea. Let me know more about what is happening one of my buddies is a huge honda junkie and helps me out a lot.
what should i be looking for in the distributer? the cams werent taken out, so it couldnt be switched 180 degrees, and i didnt take the distributer off at all. the timing belt went, and thats the only thing i replaced.
BTW my timing belt is walking off the tenstioner towards the motor, WTF is that? how do i fix it?

If you have the auto tensioner, I would bet the pivot bolt for the idler bearing is bent. It's the funny looking bolt with a wide flare on it to center the idler bearing on the waterpump.
