from what i understand the CTR is no different than the USDM ITR tranny. however 98+ JDM ITR trannies came with the lower FD.

CTR, USDM ITR, and 96 JDM ITR gear ratios:
1st - 3.230
2nd - 2.105
3rd - 1.458
4th - 1.107
5th - 0.848
Final - 4.400

98 JDM ITR gear ratios:
1st - 3.230
2nd - 2.105
3rd - 1.458
4th - 1.034
5th - 0.787
Final - 4.785

I'm not sure what ITR trans. you have but it will also depend on the powerband you're putting out. The shorter final drive of the 98 JDM ITR trans. might benefit a NA car as opposed to a turbo car for example. At this point I'd really be more concerned with the condition of the synchros. But I guess there's no way to tell until you're actually driving it, unless you drove the original car that the trans. was in.

</TD></TR></TABLE>Sounds OK, but again, you'll never know for sure until you drive it. I just said synchros cause they're usually the first thing to wear out. I've seen bearings go bad as well. Transmissions are very finicky, tolerances have to be just right.
