drum to disc conversion on 89 Si
I have an 89 Si and in need of help to do a drum to disc brake conversion. What parts do i need or which one is better? 92 to 95 civic trailing arms or 94 gsr trailing arms? also, i'm thinking of swapping the calipers in the front. any good ideas.
You can also use 90/91 crx Si rear disks.
Some people use 90/91 integra front knuckles and brakes for a upgrade and some use the 90/91 civic EX front knuckle and brakes.
The integra knuckles do have a little but different geometry so you will need to correct it some how.

you may use "any" 90 to 2000 model integ. rear trailing arms with the cables.... you will need all hardware including brake pads, calip's, cables, and you may use your lower control arm if you wish.... if you use the integ ones then you must get the struts to fit the teg.... same size and all.... just different bottom portion where the strut meets the arm..... i have 2000 rear disc on my 88 crx si which did not come with disc in the back until later.... hope this help and that will fit for a fact.....
i have the Si. is it possible if you can send me pix of urs EL Vap 133? pls. send it to jaynochegarcia@aol.com. thanx. how much it cost you to do everything using the 2k teg trailing arms?
$100.00 per side is what the junk yards here get..... that is not too bad... also get the "4040" proportioning valve and replace the one you have..... it will have the 4040 stamped on it......get the yard to throught it in.... they only get about 10.00 for it anyway....
how hard is it to take the 90-91 rear disc from an Si rex and put it onto a 89 Si?
if i can get teh training arms and struts and rotors and calipers all attached, waht else do i need to do?
do i need a porportioning valve, or should it have 1 already?
thx

If you get them from another crx si, use the ebrake cables, trailing arms, rotors, calipers & bracket, pads, and prop valve, and for the rest you can use your stock stuff.

yea man i you can find the cables and all the other from a crx then that would be good .... if not then you will have cables that are about 6" too long.... no prob though... just route them witha little bit of creativity...... you may use your prop. valve but will notice a big difference with the teg. one with the 4040 on it..... to my best knowledge all the teg's without abs should have the 4040 valve.... dont forget to bleed your whole system!!!!

I second that. you need this so your brakes are properly balanced fron to rear.
