Default What Dont I need? Cleaning up the engine bay.

Ok the more and more that i get into working on my car the more and more crap i see that i have no clue what it does. there just seems to be a bunch of crap that isnt needed. from looking into other peoples engine bays (turbo sam's for one) it just seems so much cleaner and less cluttered then my basically stock engine bay.

So what can i take out of the engine bay to clean it up a little. if you can post a pic and give an explination of how and why you did what you did.

TIA

i.e.

the plastic cover over the injectors holding the wires shown in this pic is now removed.

Remove AC condensor and hoses and lastly power steering pump and hoses. That'll clean up the engine bay real good. Otherwise everything else needs to be there.

Remove IAB's. (If you're boosted, they're just in the way) and all vacuum and canisters involved. Judging by the stock exhaust manifold you're not though. Remove EGR solenoids and everything involved if you're able to tune it out. It looks like you already have a custom intake, so Hopefully you've removed the number 8 Vacuum line. and the butterfly box in the front fender well, and the actuator stuff that goes to it next to the Battery. Cruise control can go, but I prefer to keep it.

cruise control actuator. Who needs cruise anyway? Also why would you remove the plastic cover over the injectors? I think it looks much cleaner w/ it in place than the injectors and wires exposed. just my opinion...

Just ditch that pesky H22... it's cluttering a LOT of stuff up.

Is that open or closed bonnet jk

Shakes, 'allmost' everything thats there is needed, How about colour coding or engine bay styling accessories, Though unless your gonna go for show and shines theres not much point in wasting the cash. How about an engine detailing kit topolish up ann the metal on your engie and make it all look like brand new again and a damp cloth to wipe over all the hoses

Listen, they made hoods for a reason, to cover all that crap up, know one actually knows what all those wires and hoses go to, nevermind all that intake manifold and transmission junk, all of it is not needed in my opinion. So just leave to hood closed as much as possible.

BUT seriously, i have noticed that a lot of clean engine bays have many of the components painted to match the car, seems to help blend it all together.
