Am I an idiot for selling my 90 lsvtec teg for $2100?
I sold my car in a rush because I was moving to the dorms in alabama. this it http://www.imagestation.com/al...83653 .
I sold it for $2100. It had a Greddy Trust exhaust. AEM intake. B16a1 head. Gsr throttle body. dc2 alternator. Type R Oil Pump. pr3 Mugen chipped -redline 10k vtec 4200- 2 Falken Ziex tires. $100 BBS rims. Generic lowering springs. Stanley side-markers. 190,000 mi on the block. The interior was very clean. It had a cheap 6disc cd-changer. And a lady backed up into me and left a nice size dent on the quarter panel and door but the door still didn't have any problems. Also the paint had a bad case of oxidation.
oh, I forgot to mention the clutch went bad and the tranny was grinding bad in 3rd and sometimes in 4th. You could even hear the vtec kick in real nice and there were no problems with the motor.

looks like it was a sleeper.
I'm sure you could've gotten more thant $2100 for that car. If it ran well, then the motor itself could've sold for that.

sounds like a decent price.. i personally wouldnt buy a car with an LSVTEC unless i had reciepts that it was dont right and low miles.. if i didnt have plans to rebuild the engine..
if it was running fine it was a good deal for the buyer... but you couldnt have gotten that much more... just my 2cents

The resale value of LS/VTEC's is fairly low, considering the fact that most of them aren't built properly. I think it was an alright price, you could have gotten more, but no much more.
Yeah I would be skecthy in to every buying someones Ls vtec setup, if I wasn't familiar with who the work was done by.
I'd say it was a fair deal, remember are cars aren't an investment, so you should never expect to get what you put into it.

an 90 ls vtec motor with 190,000 on it selling for 2100? I don't think so buddy. Considering the car had a bad clutch and was grinding I don't think anyone got ripped off, you might have gotten a little more if you waited a little longer, but not that much more. Even if a car has the smallest of problems it brings down the price a lot when selling. Don't sweat it
edit: I just saw you had a nice size dent in the car + bad paint.. I think you made out like a bandit for what you sold it for.
