I just installed the Injen CAI. Great sound!!! I was very impressed with the amount of pull it has across the board

I have one problem though and I was wondering if any of you had run into this. When I excel quickly I hear a squeal. What are some possible reasons for this? New car (2001). 15k Miles. The Intake is the only mod. Can anyone help?

 

belt loosen.....
check the power steering belt, alternator belt and a/c belt if you have a/c

 

Would the change for the intake effect these belts, or put any additional strain on them?

 

Is it the same at all RPMs? If it is only noticeable at low RPMs, then what you are hearing is the distinctive sound of intake whistle. This is a common sound for intakes.

 

I was wondering if that wasn't actually the problem. It is at all RPM's but only when I gas it hard. If I just steadily press the gas it doesn't do it. So yu think it's just the intake sucking air then?

no no no .. its is normal on an AEM CAI every person i know including me ..has that noise. its just the sound of the air releasing after you drop rpms.. personally i think its cool..

 

It's like that "chalkboard" screeching sound though. Not like a whistle. And it's only when i'm in gear...not idle.
