Default Aftermarket Exhaust question...gasket

i bought a used Thermal exhaust and put it on tonight, the only thing i have a question about, is there supposed to be a gasket between the b-pipe and rear section? just curious, sounds alright without but i wanted to check, the stock one didn't fit

thanks

If you can't find the proper size gasket, go to your auto parts store and get a tube of the orange stuff (forgot the actual name of it) made by Permatex. Not for donut type gaskets but works great for making flat gaskets of any size. I used it when I took my exhaust apart and the original gaskets split into pieces.

menike (sp?) or any kind of exhaust shop.. the guy i went to was part of Kwik Kar shop. they have all kinds of gaskets for just about any diameter. look in your local phone book for muffler/exhaust shops! should only be a couple bucks.

he might give you choices as to what the gasket is made of. of course the better one will cost more, although i forget what its made of! good luck!

sorry for the late response...

the thermal exhaust is loud, i don't know what to compare it to, but it is loud, but very DEEP, not buzzy or anything, deep loud

it got annoying on the highway and i didn't like the tips, so i got a borla muffler welded on, it now looks stock and is a bit quieter, to where i can stand it. The quality of the thermal is A+++
