Default Installing new main harness...

OK I got a couple questions concerning the main wiring harness and replacing it. Mines currently fizzucked up to hell. Missing alot of different elements. a replacement harness is just the way to go. So...

A) How hard is this to do exactly? The harness is OBD1 for a GSR. I've talked to a couple people, they both say it's not hard, its just very time consuming.

B) If someone can clarify... There's an engine harness (all the wiring in the engine bay) That connects to the Main harness, which runs to the ECU. The main harness also runs to all the interior eletrical stuff, (tail lamps, ABS, doors, etc.)

Thanks ahead for any input. Any info that you know would be greatly appreciated.

Like you were told, it's not all that hard, it's just really time consuming. Be sure that you note exactly how the harness was routed to prevent any issues with wire lengths.

It's an "easy" job, but it's a pain in the *** and time consuming. The second part of your question....no, it doesn't go to the doors and all the lights and whatnot.

It's just from the ECU to the main engine components such as the injector rail, alternator, etc. As Kendall said, take note as to how it is routed. If it's not perfect, you'll find some plugs won't reach and you'll have to start over.

Good luck getting all all that underneath the intake manifold.

Wait now what about ABS and lighting and what not? How does that get connected to the ECU if not through the main harness?

That's all internal in the dash and within the actual car. The ABS unit is on the passenger side in front of the rear speaker (if it's a coupe). It's where the rear passenger door would be.

All the lighting wires and "unimportant" stuff comes from another harness.
