85 crx si stock engine
ok my 1985 crx si have a 1.5 fi 12v dohc engine what is this i cant fond it anywere it redlines at 6500 ummm my speedomiter says 144 unlike most crx's say 120 mine says 144 umm thats it if you need anymore info ask it has 65k orignal miles on it too
So what are you asking? I cant make sense out of your post. It sounds like your tryin to ask what RPM you redline @? You dont have a tach? Unless your making power up there, there isnt any point at all to rev that high.

ok i have an 85 crx si i took an engine out of it. The engine is a 1.5leter fuel injeted engine with 12 valves and its a duel over head cam, also my speedomiter says 144 unliek most crx's witch say 120 what engine is this because i have one with 65k miles on it
The 1985 CRX Si was the only year and model to get the special 140 speedo. Nice rare piece there!
As far as the motor, that is the stock 1.5 sohc 12 valve motor, rated at 92 hp. It is not a dohc...
Should look just like this (minus the header)

I'm pretty sure the 87 si engine was the only one to be fuel injected.

haha what do u think the "I" in "Si" stands for? INJECTED same as the "I" in GTi...and the "S" stands for Sports....so u get Sports Injected...hence Si being fuel injected

The main reason why your car feels so much peppier is the fact that it is lighter. Your engine may only be 1.5 liters and have only 93HP, 95ft-lb torque. But the car weighs under 2000 pounds. A 1995 Civic can weigh well over 2200 pounds and has a 1.6 liter engine with 125HP, 106ft-lb torque at best (1.5 liter motors have only 102HP, 100ft-lb torque). So although power, torque, and displacement are better in the newer car, they are worse in comparison with the size and weight of the car.
