Default New to H-T. Quick question about my HF

I'm a new guy to H-T, and actually I just got into the JDM stuff(i.e. trading my 17's for some GSR fat 5's and then buying some azenis)
alright. Heres the probably. I have a 89 HF in great condition, and I am 300 miles from home right now in college. So i am on a little bit of a budget(i know some of you HT guys are ballin' with the money). OK my Hf exhaust is horrible. the pipe is probably 2 inches exactly or maybe smaller (ha!) and it just looks horrible. Im not getting a swap for a while(unless I get a ton of finicial aid for school) So I want to run a Apex N1 muffler with custom piping. and yes I did do a search..i found that the muffler is around 200 and the piping will be around 150..so to have it all on the car 350 correct?? but since my HF motor is so pathetic, it won't change the sound at all with it??? even with a high flow cat??? or even without a cat(just a pipe)?? what sound I do????? leave the little crappy HF exhaust or try something else?? or would it be a waste of my money??? I just want a little sound and for it to look clean!! help

Don't waste that much money on a stock HF motor... it'll still sound crappy, and everyone will know exactly how slow it accelerates because it will be 10 times louder.

Just save up... with the $350 you could buy a D16A6 motor, and swap it in yourself. Then you'd have a fairly quick little vehicle... you wouldn't even need any extra parts! Just a tranny and ECU.
