Hey all--
Is there a DVD out there that includes some extended info on the Tyrrell P34 & P35 6-wheel F1 cars??? Oddly enough, I've never seen one in motion. Seems like every "Legends of Motorsport" I've caught has never covered it.
Thoughts/info???

Yes, "lap of the gods" is one.
Speed also aired a biography/documentary on Ken Tyrell himself and his cars. You might try a search on Speed Channel's website.

makes me old, I guess - I remember watching the grand prix on TV (every sunday afternoon at the grandparents' house, it was either F1 or moto 500GP) when those cars came out...

That must've been awesome. I just like the idea that a design that radical could have come about. Almost impossible to picture these days, with every series essentially being so homogenized.
I was 4 in '76--already had an interest in cars, but not F1 specifically. I know I had the HotWheels of the 6-wheeler.

I wasn't much older at all - I was 5 in '76 and those cars I think were only racing for 2 years... But I vividly remember seeing them on TV while I was playing on the floor with my Legos, and subsequently trying to built one just like it.
Memories... I eventually got a die-cast model of one, which has since been long lost.
