h23 tensioner install, i got a question

h23 tensioner install, i got a question
i ordered the tensioenr and also received a spring with it. the spring goes from the tensioner to the lilttle bolt at the top left. there is a rubber covering around the spring. and im not sure if im suppose to take it off.. thanks in advance
