Default Fried transmission

I fried my transmission just recently, well at least first gear and was wondering where i could find a type R tranny somewhere?...and along with that i was wondering what other transmissions would fit the type S...would the civic si one fit as well?...and how well does the civic si 5 speed work?...and is anyone selling a type s one?...

The civic one won't work well because the gear spacing is to far. so vtec won't kick in properly. Take you car to the dealer and have them fix it. it should still be under warrarnty unless you are over 50 k.

If the dealership is willing to replace the tranny with the warranty then that's great! Becuase replacing the first gear in the tranny will cost somwhever between $500 to $800! So if you were to look for a tranny then you'd be better off buying a used tranny.
