Default itr block on stock head

my friend suggests i throw and itr block under my stock b18a head. He said it will would make my car torquey as hell and that my compression would be amazing. Is this true? i have never heard of this.. usually is the vtec head on a non-vtec block.

I'm thinking he wants you to ditch the Type R head and LS block and make his own little beast

Your friend is officially a moron. I suggest terminating your friendship with him as soon as possible.

Actually, if you traded shortblocks with him, then he would be in possetion of the ITR head and LS block which would make for one hell of an LS/VTEC. Your engine would actually lose power and torque despite the slight gain in compression. He's trying to screw you out of your block to build his little monster. I'd say terminate the friendship.
