No start, fuel pump not priming...ecu?
Hi everyone,
My 88 crx Dx is not starting. The reason for this is because I was taking out my heater blower and shorted a wire(blue/white) in the process. I have found out that the blue/white wire goes into the ignition switch. My symptoms are...
fuel pump not priming
cel stays on and doesnt go away
cranks but doesn't fire up
I used to get a code 7 but now the ecu shows nothing...
can it possibly be the ignition switch?
I have already replaced the main relay
double checked the fuses and everything is all good
Pulled out my ecu and it is ok but don't get code anymore...hmm
I suspect the Ecu but I am not sure...
I have been looking around this site and learned many things that i cannot learn in a manual. However this one has got me stumped completely. Any help would be appreciated..

First of all, when doing work on a car, always unplug battery.... If not, this is what happens...
I suspect a blown fuse, fusible link or something like that....
Check for power going to ECU... Do you have any????

Thanks for the reply everyone.
I will go check the fuses one more time but this time with a test light.
I have already replaced the main relay so i don't think its a relay... my suspects where the ignition switch or the ecu. I thought about it alot last night and never could understand why did my code 7 all of sudden disappear when the short happened...I'll go check my fuse..

Check the underdash fuse #14 labeled alternator solenoid..
If it blows the fuel pump won't run and the check engine light will remain on while you are cranking it...

I got myself a test light at sears and was performing the test that you guys suggested. when I was testing the fuses in the engine bay compartment, I've noticed tha the plugs that go into the fuse box was burnt. It pulled it out to and found the ends of the plugs melted. I tested it with a test light just to see whether there is current going through and I got nothing. I am 98% sure this is my cause for the engine not starting. But how would i fix this? Would I have to go get another harness from the junk yard and just pull off the that plug? Do I have to go to the dealer to get just that plug?? The Plug was burnt but the wires were ok...any suggestions?

ain't it frustrating...
all the fuses where good no mine too, none blew...but the plug that went into the under hood fuse were all burnt. I totally missed that, maybe you should look carefully to see if its not burnt or anything...
I know I have to replace the plugs...but I don't think even the dealer sells just the plug. I was thinking about soldering the wires to the fuse box...would this be a good idea???
nobody has opinions???Opinions needed please! I need to get my car back on the road

Replaced main fuse under the hood and re-did the wiring at the connectors. Everything has power except for the pins that come out of the electrical load detector...it consists of a black wire that goes to ground, green/red wire that goes to the ecu and black/yellow wire that goes to the under dash alternator solenoid fuse. No wonder my fuel pump is not priming...But why would just the ELD not have power and everything does???? I'll go trace back the wires and see if I could spot anything
Nobody had similar experience with this? If so please help

I have finally figured the problem out...
it turns out that my ECU was bad. I finally swap out ecu with one of my co-workers EF and what do you know...it fired up!!! I went to the junk yard and go another ecu for myself, and it fired her up as well. So relieved. Thanks everybody for helping out
