I want to swap my doors.
I have a 91 STD hatch. THe doors are heavy as hell. I can feel it, even when im just trying to open or close them. Seatbelt issues aside, will a 88 door bolt right in? If so, from what model? And what about CRX doors?I plan on attaching the pillar mounted seatbelts berfore i attempt to change doors, just to make sure seatbelts will work, i need to know for sure if a 88 door fits.
crx door wont work cause the window shape is diff...i dotn think its worth swapping doors..just take you belts off your door and get some 88-89 seatebelts on the pillar. they only make teh door seem heavy cause the belt is on the door. They may or maynot have a extra beam in the door but that probably would only weigh 5lbs and imo saftey is worth adding 5lbs...if weight is a issue and this is for a race only car you could remove the bumper supports and remove the door beams but for the street that would be illegal.
honestly i dont know. Probably a few pounds if any. I wanted to swap mine from my 88 but never got time. I would bet that a raceing harness would be the lightest deal yet.

im going to install a harness using my crx seats...i don't see any reason why you couldn't.

Maybe your door "feels heavy" cuz it's saging. My buddy who works at a body shop has a tool the latches into the door, so you can lift up on it and re-set the hinges, pretty much. If you do it right, the door swings way easier and closes like new. That'll be $.02, please.
