Default Y8 head swap on a DX, worth it?

Friend has a full y8 head swap for sale for pretty cheap, just wondering if it was actually worth buying it off of him. I used to have a Z6 CRX Si I swapped myself in a day-so mechanical skills are not a problem, but I am basically wondering if its going to be worth the trouble swapping the y8 head onto the rex and doing the MPFI conversion. I do have a full A6 block/head sitting in my garage but I dunno if the extra .1 liter would even be worth it.

Thanks

I would put it on the A6 out of the car and then drop it in and well its out of the car maybe do a few things like internals.

I dont really have the time to take on such a project. This is just my daily driver pizza delivering car. Its just nice to have a lil' pep in the daily driver, however I do have a CBR600 F4i and my 30ZX so its not like the rex needs to be fast, lol

Yea it doesnt need to be fast but I was thinking as in a cheap rebuild and some differnt stock pistons to raise the comp.
You know kinda like a junkyard rebuild to make it a little more peppy with stock parts.

both blocks have the same mileage, how much power do you think we are looking at between the D16 and D15 blocks?

and FYI a rebuild is outta the question

That is a hard question to answer since I have never seen dynos back to back but it would not be much.
If its easier for you to swap heads then a motor just do the head swap.

I think it would be easier and less time consuming to just swap heads, however I do have a DX so I would have to convert to MPFI. I noticed you have all the stuff needed, how involved is it, and do you have a link on how to convert over? I would also need a PM6, as well as a VTEC controller or activated switch correct?

On another note, I was revving my Z6 crx to almost 7500 rpms, can the D15 block handle that?

Well you need somthing to activate vtec like a VAFC or do a full p28 OBD 1 conversion but that might cost more then what you probly want to spend on the pizza wagon so I would probly use a VAFC then if I were you.
The MPFI swap is real easy, Their are quite a few writups on line and I know sport compact car did a good writup a while ago.

I dont believe the mpfi would be all that big of a deal for me. I was using a Fields controller when I had my Z6 CRX, but I will probably just buy a summit rpm activated switch and wire it up that way

Yea its just a few wires, and the switch and fields controller would also work.
If you want the MPFI hit me up.
Have you noticed we have been talking back and forth thread to thread for awhile now?
