Default Engine Swap Questions... simple.

just a quick simple questions.

i want to have a pretty reliable daily driver this summer and i cant decide what to do.

-what does a b18c5 swap into a del sol cost? i thought like... 3500 maybe?
-did the b18c5 tranny come with an lsd?
-are there any faster options for the same cost of the b18c5, or cheaper?

Have you priced b18c5's lately?
The last time I checked they were about $4,500 just for the swap (labor not included).
You could do a b18b turbo for about the same price as a b18c5 swap. That would give you in the neighborhood of about 220whp and about 180ft lbs of tq reliably.

You can check out http://www.hmotorsonline.com for some pricing.

You could do an h22a swap for around $3500 (if your doing the labor yourself).
Thats a good swap, but a bit more involved than a B series.

Most any place.
$2,500 for complete b18b (shipped)
and about $2,000 for custom turbo set-up with all good parts.
Those are just estimates, assuming nothing goes wrong (generally something will unfortunately)

your really afraid of that coveted word huh. ...be careful you running on the border of getting it...
Ahh I don't feel like searching either, but I'm curious as to how much one would expect to spend making a crvtec. Without installation cost

no doubt a c5 would be awesome, id just perfer all the torque with the crvtec. cant go wrong with that. Yes ill admit its a difficult swap, but when done right, results in awesome hp gains.

i think honestly, with it done RIGHT...your lookin at 3500. Id say thats a fair amount for the b20 block, internals built up, and a gsr head, not to mentioin ecu, axles and all the other goodies you need. If you have access to integra LS parts your life will be alot easier.

but search for some more info, im not going to go in depth... GL

it sure is, but its fun workin on your car its a good 2 or 3 month project id say. build the engine out of the car...thatll make your life easier. I'd honestly say an LS turbo is probably just as much work if not more...

if thats too much work just go with a B16a2 in your sol. Itll haul *****.

ohhh noooo way, but its so much cheaper. i think youd have alot of fun with a b16 in your sol. 160 hp vs 190 or so....yeah the c5's better, but the b16 is a great engine.

i want a faster car.. there are so many swapped cars with b16's and such... i thought it would be nice with a c5 to pull on them, as well as some other decently cars.

the C5 should cost around 4500 no labor u do the rest of the math

i would prolly build a 2nd gen b16 or turbo that or build a gsr. kinda depends on how much u wanna spend. All motor is not a good bang for the buck.

if out want bang for the buck get a LS and juice it or boost it that shoudl be relatively cheap

LS= 1500 full swap
nos= 1500 after tuning and install
turbo=1500 for homemade or custom or 2000 for a kit

that should be all the info you need

anymore questions??
