Default Metal Property Question?

Shot-peened cast rod vs. Forged rod

Has any one ever tested the difference in hardness between
a shot peened rod and a forged rod. For the sake of specificness
say a shot peened LS rod versus and Eagle Manufcturing Rod.

stock rods are forged pieces. The eagle rod is just a bit beefier.Either way,a shot peened stock rod will still not compare to a eagle rod.

Really, I never knew that stock rods were forged. Are they 4340 or what type of metal are they? I am really looking for more than just they will not compare to eagle rods. I know that. I am just curious as to what makes the eagle rod that much mroe "beefier" Is it the metal hardness? The type of metal, the casting, the structure, or all of it combined.

the forging process, heat treatment and the alloy they are made from.Even the eagle rods are shot peened also.
