Default transmission

hey guys im kinda new to this stuff, but i have this one problem i guess, are honda transmissions different from other front-wheel-drive cars? I have a 95 accord v6 , why can I feel the shifts of gears in the trans and not in my bros 92 la sabre front-wheel-drive buick? My car runs and accelerates very smoothy but when i let go of the gas, as i loose speed i can feel the the trans shifting down and kinda slows me down a bit at 30 mph then goes normal the slows me down a bit when it reaches about 15 mph then goes normal again. I drove another accord and it did the same thing and i was wondering mybe hodas are different. Any answers to any or my questions are appreciated. thanks

all the gearing and shiftpoint of your honda auto trans is design to go with that underpowered v6
