'86 civic 1.5 carb. 5spd potential?
Getting a free 86 hatch from a friend once i unsticky the throttle... Im i in the right forum I'm a Impreza/camaro/mustang guy, new to honda(sorta had a 91 hatch when i was 15 but didnt know what to do with it) anyways I realise this blue monster is absolutely hideous(did i spell that right?) but it looks fun to play with. Seeing as I am an impreza guy I am naturally boost crazed, i want to run 3+ psi on a rhb5 or td04 since they are cheep along with a saab I/C but i know nothing about this engine and havnt had much luck finding info on here.
if you coulod please help me find out a couple things:
engine specs. of this 1.5l ~60ish hp paper-weight
what dohc closed block(preferred) or whatever engine to put in along with tranny
if 89-91 suspension parts are same/similar did i get the years right?
or where to find out all this(already tryed searching forums not much help)
greatly appreciated,

Throw it back, that is a dog with no potential.
That particular version of the Honda 1.5 is unlike any other Honda engine. consequently you will need to change the engine, transmission and the entire fuel system (tank, lines, etc.) to make a strong Honda engine work in that car.
OK, that was brutal. It is possible to find a carb'ed version of the brown top ZC DOHC 1.6 from Japan and slap that in with a tranny from a 86-89 Integra.

http://www.redpepperracing.com is the best site for your particular model of car.... That car has quite a bit of potential, dont write it off.

yeah redpepperracing is all about 1st gen CRX's and if you would like, they always talk about 1st gen integra engine swaps in those things, but the best way to go on that would to get a integra parts car

waste of time to mod that car...btw drifting and fwd doesnt work to well...that car would make a good commuter but thats it. The suspension cant be swapped with a 88-91 cause they use dbl wishbone and trailin arms while the 87 and older use torsion and solid axel crap...find a 88-91 crx or hatch instead
They are great cars, and great cars to mod don't listen to a word anyone here tells you. They honestly don't know **** about them. Torsion bars work VERY well. While getting parts and such for them maybe hard at times its alot easier than one may think. Convert that sucker to fuel injection and you can swap in a d16a6 pretty easy or even a b series with the right mounts. I have a complete fuel injection wiring harness for a 84-87 CRX but would work fine on a hatch with a bit of work. I've seen more first places won with a 1st gen than a 2nd.
