Identify this on my intake manifold please

The hole between my first and second runners, what is that, what does it do?
I was curious because I am installing my intake manifold and it smells weird.

From: its a new day....

The pcv hose goes through that hole from the port on top off the intake to the pcv box on the back of the engine

Yea I figured that; but when I smelled it it was really odd...really smelled strong with fuel.

thats what i was wondering.

im a little obsessive compulsive, but i dont think i've ever smelled car parts...

I always smell mine 3 times before installing...

PS if your PCV smells of gas or oil you need a catch can...
