I would have to say ls turbo, vtec is harder too tune with higher horsepower applications.I also know of alot of 500+ b18c turbo's who drop vtec because its easier too tune.I would say the amount of money you spend into vtec put it into rebuilding the block, for boosting higher!

Depends on how much money you want to spend. LS/Vtec is obviously going to be more.....on top of the $5K+ you're gonna need to get good amounts of power from just a turbo. The Vtec head + install + tuning for Vtec is going to be even more.

I'd just go with a LS Turbo, mine was powerful enough. I could blow the pants off pretty much any car on the road and most bikes. Yes, you heard me correct. ANY car and ALL 600cc bikes. This is from a roll of course.

I am really liking the response I am getting. Also, the entire motor is going to be being built for the turbo set up anyway, so factory compression means **** to me, but thanks for the info, and by all means please keep posting. If not for me, do it for the next person searching this in the archives

It's very possible to go either way. I think you need to consider which of the two options will best help you reach your goals for power and performance. Personally I'd like to see a good turbo LS project. I like saving VTEC for all motor, but that's just me.

Heres my .02

If you have the $$ to do it right and build it, then by all means for the Ls vtec

However if your goals are smaller than lest say 350 and want to make power on a budget then Ls hands down.

Personally I fi had the $ to build i would build a gsr turbo setup instead of an Ls vtec just for reliability issues, but if you have a good builder and $$ then an Ls vtec should be fine .

In the end the decision is based on two things

1) $$
2) power goals

ls/vtec - no question... The vtec heads flow so much better... You will get better results with vtec - thats why people go through the trouble of making the conversion...

Just something to think about, Cary AKA cheesefrog is ditching the ls motor and going b18c1 for more power....So if that says anything.
