i believe you will have to remove the fender gaurds, its been awhile since i removed mine, but its either remove the gaurds or the bumper, you definately can't squeeze it through that hole. also i believe two bolts hold it in place. is there a reason you don't want to remove the fender gaurds, that would seem to be the easiest way?

there are bolts holding it in. once you get those off pull down. you might want to take your wheel off to get some room.

If you dont want to take the bumper off pull the inner fender and passenger side bumper light you need a really long extension because there is a hidden bolt. I just janked the **** out of mine a broke the plastic resonater box. Why dont you want to take your inner fender out.

Default Better for high heat? CAI or Short Ram?

I live in vegas and it gets hot as all hell in the summer. I keep hearing that cai pipes will warm up due to the engine heat and it wont benefit me at all. Is it better for me to switch to short ram during the summer or perhaps make a heatshield of some kind? Any ideas let me know please.

If you have a decent enough CAI, you won't have to worry about the engine bay heating it up. You have to also remember that the constant flow of air through your CAI will cool the intake pipe down too, if it does get hot. A heat shield couldn't hurt anything.

It took me a good hour or two attempting to get the resonator out without the bumper. Notice the word attempt--i couldn't get it out.

Once i took off the bumper though, it took 10 mins and that bi0tch was out! So take off the bumper!

if you don't want to take the bumper off, take the marker light off on that side
it doesn't give you much room to work with, but you can get a 10mm socket in there on an extension and turn it 1 click at a time...took me probably 20minutes that way but it worked. Oh yeah, still gotta get the splash guard open to get the bottom bolt though. it's simple as hell.

bumper comes off easy, takes 5 min once you got the tools.

Theres some big screw things holding the plastic on the bottom, than take out your signals and there 4 bolts under em, 2 per signal, and the plastic screws that hold it on from the side in the wheel well.

Than inner fender is like 8 plastic screws and it falls off. Take the tire off too man its simple.

Dont be scared of tools.
