will the gsr stock shifters fit in our stock shift linkage?
yes, but not the newer gsr ones, maybe after 96. I can't remember what year, they have wider bushing ends

is it only gsr have that nice 'lock-in' feel? like a stiffer shift that feels like its actually in gear? is it the shifter that creates the feel? or the shift linkage?
Ok heres the exprience that I have had. I have a hasport shift linkage. (not really but a knock off) anyways, I had a 99 Si shifter in there, then I realized that its the same as my DX on.... I wasted 20 bucks on it cause my gay SS broke.... So I guess B and D series shifters are somewhat interchageable.

well the reason why i ask if the b would fit in the d linkage was because i tried to put my SS for the EF into the b16 linkage and it didnt work..well it went in..but the bearing part was smaller..so i had to tighten up the bolt real tight or else the shifter will just move side to side.
