Default having problems cutting fuel for injector flush!

Hey guys need your help Im at work right now(work at a ford dealership) and am doing a little maitenence on my crx. I am setting everything up to do a injector flush right now but I cant think of anywhere to cut the fuel(the engine is only supposed to run off the cleaner until it dies with the fuel cut off)

Im used to fords since they ahve an inertia switch and you can shut off the fuel pump.......manually.

What can I do, I already tried unplugging the main relay and like I fig. the car just wouldnt start at all.

Should I do somthing witht he resister box??? man I cant think of anything, I suppose I could tear up the rear storage compartment since I know the fuel gauge sending unit is there and unplugging that If I recall that kills fuel to the engine.

Im honestly just really stumped, in all honesty the car should still start with the main relay unplugged since I am supplying it with fuel(the cleanre itself) and its under about 40-45 psi right now......

just give me some ideas.....

Well to the first topic, Im home now I had to put everything back together for now......I did however unplug the fuel gauge sending unit and tried it that way but still no luck.

Basically I have no idea.....I know theres a way though, I know If I unplugged the fuel pump itself then it should work but thats next to impossible unless I drop the tank and im not doing all that just so I can do an injector flush.

I know im missing somthing, so to the guys that actually have a clue to what im talking about just shoot out some idea's im prob. going to try it again tomorrow night.

You're trying to cut power to the fuel pump? You can pull fuse #14, alt. and solenoid or something like that. Also, the plug under the rear storage compartment does provide power to the fuel pump.

Okay that is what I was looking for a fuse, I had already checked both panels and since nothing really made it clear it was for fuel I wasnt going to try anything stupid.

Yes your right the connector for the sending unit does provide power to the fuel pump but it also will prob. give you like one good start and then the car dies all togehter if it doesnt have fuel pressure after the connector like up by the filter where you have to mount the fitting(on the banjo bolt) for the cleaner.

Ill try the sending unit again tomorrow becuase I think if I can go rigth off the fuel rail it might work, Im not sure I already tried somthing similiar to that and no dice.

Ill check out teh fuse though.

Unplug the fuel pump underneath the security box in the back.

Now that I think about it as long as that fuse cuts power to the fuel pump well then I should be straight. See I still need the fuel in the lines that is already there to flow, I need fuel pressure, The only thing im trying to do here is cut the fuel pump off so it cant run.

See you hook up the cleaner which is pressurized by shop air to whatever rail pressure is (honda's it ranges about 40-45) and then cut the fuel pump off that way your car starts on the gas that is present in the lines/fuel filter/fuel rail and once that runs out it just runs off the cleaner so you get pressurized cleaner fluid going straight through your injectors once that runs out the car sputters and the engine dies and your done, you hook everything back up start it and let it run some more and thats it.

Problem with honda's is they dont have a scrader valve to T-right intot he fuel rail like virtually every other car. You kinda have to get creative but the kit my shop has has a special banjo fitting just like the one on our cars at the fuel filter you pop that on the line going into the fuel filter or thats what im thinking you might go right off the fuel rail (which kinda makes more sense since).

Im sorry to tell you that is not the fuel pump, that is merely the sending gauge unit......ttttrrrruuussttt me Ive replaced several honda fuel pumps all located on the top side of the tank making it virtually impossible to get to it unless your drop the tank.

and I know I write alot but if you read my earlier posts you'd see I already tried this.

If you unplug that spot though it won't provide power to the fuel pump. That's where people splice into for fuel cut switches. Fuse or that plug, either will work.

I read your earlier post, if you would recheck the wiring you would realize thats what supplies power to the pump.

Yes I realize this I had a fuel cutoff switch in my dx. That is why I pulled the carpet up and pulled that plug first......The engine started but then died instantly it didnt get any fuel pressure or anything from the cleaner system.

If anyone has done this before they will know wht im talking about otherwise its hard to explain.

I will fight it again tomorrow and let you know how it turns out.
