Default Wagovan RT4WD mods...?

I just bought a '90 6spd Wagovan! yeah!

I am planning on doing a Z/Y6 head (v-tec) in the near future, and probably a Crower street cam with that, but... I need to work on the suspension and brakes first.

Q's:

What shocks/struts can I use? I am planning on using the stock springs to maintain stock height (off road excurtions) and I really hope there are some KYB's or Koni's that are direct replacements. If not, I 'spose I could do some creative perch welding or something?

Can I add a rear sway bar? the Si must have one, so can the wagovan be retro-fitted?

Brakes > she came with mushy, yet effective, brakes. Does it just need a bleed, or could it be the Master or even the rear drums or all of the above? in input would be appreciated on this one.

I have not torn into it that much yet as I'm trying to sell my other car first, but brakes and suspension will be the done, and I'll be v-tec'd by spring. (more questions on that later....).

thanks - and nice board! I'm stoked to have some resources
-Chad

Some links I came across when I was doing wagon research:

Rear sway-bar will have the same issue as adding it to any ED/EF that didn't come with it. You'll need to figure out a way to mount the backets to the chassis (weld or long bolts). Additionally, the rear LCA's probably don't have the threaded endlink holes and I'm not sure if you can swap them for LCA's with them, since yours are meant for halfshafts back there. The one guy in the second link figured out how but he's 2WD.

Thanks for the links.

The rear sway will probably come next... I'll hafta poke around more and see what is there.

Found a torn CV boot so the whole front end will basically come apart so I need to find shocks soon, any info on that? I really don't want coilovers ($ and complexity), just some straight replacements.... I guess I should get on the Yahoo group

And yeah, 6spd = 5spd with a "granny" gear.

will start the front end next week - maybe I'll be stuck with stock replacements for shocks lame - I'll figure something out

It's been 8 years since this thread was dead. This car probably sat in a junkyard for around 3 years then hit the crusher 2 years ago... Why in the world would you post this useless information to such an old thread?
