need a new ignition/ key cylinder-- any suggestions??? 90 accord...
My 90 accord was stolen last month and it was just recovered but I am now starting it with a screw driver... the ignition cylinder seems to be intact but the core is out and cracked and the silver washer thing that holds it all in is missing... Honda wants over $200 for the whole thing -- Does any one have an old car they are parting out with a good ignition switch to sell me or any guidance on where to get a used or aftermarket part on-line? any help would be great. And how do I install it too -- does the steering column have to come apart?
Thanks
Thanks
which part of the egnition swich u need. there are two parts. 1. the mechanical part where u put the key. 2. the electronic part<<<< which is basicll five wires that go to the lower fuse box.
i have the mechanical part. i bought it for $20 with the keys.
what i would recommend is that go to pep boys or auto zone or abc auto and buy the egnition and hopefully u don't need the electronic part because will cost u $90 at the honda dealer,,, but buy it there because other shops sell it for $150 or a little lower. to install it just follow the manual. it's very easy.
