I have a Thermal Cat back. Wish it was quieter...its nice at low RPM, but once you get above 4700 or so it really starts to get bumble beeish. *shrug* Performance is nice, but a little to loud for my taste.

i have it... i love it. it sounds great, but it is loud when you have a header and high flow cat. accourding to thermal the exhaust is built on a stock car with no mods so they do all their testing on that and can pass california db regulations bla bla bla...

If the exhaust is too loud for you and you get a ticket you can send them your muffler and and they will install a stealth baffel for free. i'll be sending mine out in 2 weeks. it should take 5-6 db from the exhaust.

I should make note that I have a p&p head, port matched I/E and a dc sports ceramic header, and random tech high flow cat.

I like mine. Its on a turbo ZC and it is one of the original non-resonated ones (before they were stainless). Without the turbo it is really loud, but with the turbo, it sounds great.

Thanks for all the information. Is there any others that would be good with a turbo?

Really there are better choices for a turbo car. My thermal was just something that I already had. Thermal makes a turbo 3" exhaust for turbo cars, but with my minimal boost, it wouldn't really help me much.

For an N/A car, I personally think a thermal is the nicest product for the money.

I've got a 3" Thermal catback in full stainless on my Hatch. I love it, and with all the stock swapbars and whatnot, I've got no clearance issues. Sounds very deep and throaty, and it's not loud enough to be annoying. That's b16a turbo, full interior, LS gearing.

Have it on our Prelude and love it. We had it on the 96 Civic HB and it was really nice on there too. In both cases they were set up to be "stealth" types and the sound is very acceptable. The Prelude is a deep rumble at idle and goes smoothly from there. The Civic was actually much louder, but the CX model of the car is not as well insulated as the Prelude-still it was fine even on long road trips. I have never had a problem with the police.

Got one for NA b16 in the hatch. Decent at low rpms, but it does get goin' higher in the rev range (but hey, it's a vtec motor). I've been really happy with the quality, durability, clearance, etc.

I must point out that i, unfortunately, dropped my cat for a straight pipe @ the same time i got the thermal installed.

I can vouch for the bumble-bee'ish, blatty, raspy sound, but can't really blame it on the thermal alone. (see above) Had a cheapo bosal/brospeed exhaust w/holes in the muffler, etc...before, with the stock cat, and MAN that thing sounded f**kin' EVIL. I mean, I would go out of my way to pass under bridges, by large retaining walls etc, just to her that thing scream.

Now it's kinda embarassing... i'm now a part of the "Honda lawnmower" phenomenon. Hopefully that will be cleared up when i finally get a new cat on there. HTH.

2¢...

i love my thermal. just like most people say its kinda loud, but thats what makes it great IMO.

I called Thermal and if your exhaust system is too loud they will install a Stealth baffel for free on any of their systems. you just have to pay S/H. i'm sending mine out next week.
