hey fellas-i read all the rave reviews on the C's shift kit in the archives. i just wanted to ask one last time from fellow R owners on opinions if this is a great mod for the R before i decide to sell it. i've had a new one in the box for a while that i bought when the fever was high for these kits, but i'd like to avoid installing it and un-installing it and selling it for less because it would no longer be "new".
i'd like to make a decision and maybe pay-off some bills, but on the one hand, everyone knows that these are harder and harder to find now, esp since they were discontinued...and i found the dusty box the other day in my closet, tempting me to install it now. just dont want to sell it and regret it one day.
i've never driven a ride with a c's shifter, but a few closer acquaintances have experienced positive "improvements" over stock feel. closest i've come was with a jg short shifter that was in my LS a few years back, and i really loved the feel of it.
i know its my own R and i should do whatever i want to do with it, but HT has been good to me in the past with decisions like this, esp from experienced members...thanks all

If it's the "driving position" shifter, don't put it on the car.
Sell it to me.
I've only seen praise in regards to the C's shifter line. Paying off bills is worthwhile also but I'd try it out before selling it.

one last last question...anyone used the stock bushings when first installing the kit? everyone i've asked seems to have upgraded their shifter bushings at the same time of install, but if the stock ones will work smooth for a while, i'd save myself some time and money hold-off on new ones til later. thanks

I would definitely use it. I would also upgrade the bushings. I have the Cs shifter on my SI with Mugen bushings. It is awesome.

You might as well install some bushings while your at it. Takes 15 minutes TOPS.

even if you plan on goin back to your stock shifter i would chance your bushings, for me it felt a lot better after i installed the C's shirt shifter, but i believe it was the bushings that made the ttranny feel "snappyer" (not a word but its what it felt like)

The labor you save by doing the bushings and shifter at the same time isn't that much, so don't feel like you have to do both at the same time.
Prothane/Energy Suspension shifter bushings are 10-15 dollars vs. 40-60 for Spoon/Mugen. If these were suspension bushings the extra money would be worth it, but shifter bushings as so simple that w/ Mugen/Spoon you really are just paying for the name.

I have the ES bushings and they are very nice. Probably a little too stiff since it vibrates a ton and is very notchy.
The mugen bushings I haven't yet installed seem to be a half way point.
So the money you pay, you get different things.
Have you installed the C's yet d00d?
