my f**king drain plug has striped the threads out of my oil pan and i can't get it out someone please tell me a way without pulling the pan

 

Pull it out simply... either Pry it out, use vise grips, etc...

And fix it fix a self threading oversize drain plug...

Next time don't overtighten.... Just snug it up..

yank that bitch out and then use a tap and die kit.

 

Don't go tapping in there.. Buy a oversized self tapping drain plug. They are meant for that...

can't pry the plug out can't get under it an i just bought the car the previous owner
already used an oversized plug they messed it up

 

just get into a shop and re-thread the pan.......it cost more now but saves you the hassle later

Ok 1 choice here... buy a new pan...

If you bring it to a garage, they will probably end up replace the pan, so why ot do it yourself...

you can just get them to re-thread........unless your pan is all f*cked up

 

Depends how much material is left... If you have an oversized plug, it is quite reasonable to think that not enough material is left to re-thread...

pry with a flat head and crank at it with vice grip, or you can just drill it out.......................

 

I had the same problem about 2 years ago , and had to get mine out that night. Since it was 11 at night nothing was realy open . So i went to my 24 hour Wallmart and foudn a socket that was like gator wrench or something. They claim it could remove and stipped nut. So i bought took it home tried it out, and it worked. Not saying it was a quality tool but it saved my but that night.

 

hahaaha i was just about to recomend a "gator grip" too man that **** saved my *** all the time its almost as usfull as duct tape

 

Yeah gator grip is good, only if you stripped the head of the nut, not the threads....
