Does the POS CF hood fit right? If so paint that insted, keep the weight off and make use of the sitter.

c/f matches with red a lot more than it would purple to be quite honest.

paint your other messed up CF hood IMO. Also the CF with purple will look good. If you don't like it, you can always get it shot later riiight?

The whole car is being repainted... explain your comment, I just am unsure if I want the whole color to look like a sleeper or to leave the hood as is. I am painting the foglight bezels to match. So why not. I am just affraid the hood might show the waves in the paint. or cause it to crack which is what I dont want to happen.

neither am I ************ lol... but carbon fiber hoods are carbon fiber hoods... I guess if I look at it this way it doesnt matter if the hood has some slight waves in it or not when I paint the car because if its being used for track usage I shouldnt be worried about bling anyways.

So I guess its getting painted jethro!

I like cf unpainted, but only when its nice and glossy
just remember, half of honda-tech is for painting cf hoods, and half of it is for leaving it unpainted
no matter which way you go, you'll surely be accepted

I am not worried about acceptance I am just worried on ****** up an irreplacable 800 dollar hood. which doesnt have the same value it did 3 years ago. AAAAND possibly replacing it if things went bad.

if u think your hood will be damaged when it gets painted, then dont paint it....just leave and then if it you dont think it looks good on purple then just take it off and sell it, atleast then u could get some money for it...

paint it, i had carbon fiber hood on my yellow SI, but i decided to put stock back on. sold the hood for $350. IMHO a car looks alot better in one solid color.

IMO I would leave it, and I would just repaint it red as well, red Si's are kinda rare to see...

yeah sure are.... cops love to pay a lot of ****** attention to them as well. especially haters that key your fenders up when your watching a movie... people will give it a second look plus I love that purple. I hate the red now, I never liked the color red but I hate the blue and my mother had a black civic coupe.

paint it, but leave some showing, either a design, an emblem, allows you to still floss you carbon fiber, and IMPO it makes it a little more custom and more unique than everyone else's CF hood...., as long as you don't scuff the hood to far into the epoxy/clear coat then you can "unpaint" it later, by sanding the paint off of it, and either clear coating it or buffing the shine back like a wet sand process

A friend had his teg repainted and when they applied the red pearl over the white paint they also pearled the Carbon hood, gave it a nice look...like pearled CF
