Default Integra Engines

Im new here and Im looking at getting a used Integra, maybe a 96 or 97.
My limit is around $6500.
The different models are:

LS
RS
GS
GSR
Type R

Correct?

So whats the differences in these engines, I know some of its HP but a couple of these engines have the same HP, so whats the other differences? Also, did the engines change over the years?
Could someone please help me out with my confusion between these engines, I want to know what im getting when I buy it.

Thanks

yeah and what car is he going to put the engine in???

for the amount your looking to spend, you could get a high mileage gsr or a newer rs/ls/gs. depends on what you want.

some specs on engines

B18B1 140hp@6300 128lbs-ft@5200 redline 6800
B18C1 170hp@7600 124lbs-ft@6200 redline 8100
B18C5 195hp@8000 130lbs-ft@7000 redline 8400

the only change the engines really went through was their ecu,
92-93 obd0
94-95 obd1
96-01 obd2

the type R is the top of the line integra by far, but is way out of your price range, the GSR comes with the vtec engine and some good suspension and cosmetic differences than the LS/GS/RS.

By a high mileage ls or gsr cheap. More than likely the Ls will be cheaper. Take the rest of the money for a bottom end build up. Or, take the rest of the money for a turbo kit, even if you have to add some more money to it. Just my 2 cents

i believe the 94-97 are b18b/pr4 and the 98-up are b18b/p75. thats a pretty big differance but not really. the p75 head/im flows better. i agree with 94-95 gsr with low milage is best car to start off with unless you get a type r.

It's not that hard to find. You could get a GSR changeover for 3 grand from JDMHondaparts. And that's only one site, there are numerous others.
