3rd gear syncro?

Ok; my brother has a B18C GSR and he has gone through (2) 3rd gear syncro's and his reverse syncro.

The question that I have is what makes the syncro's go bad?
Also does LSD have any thing to do with helping the syncro's out?

Just give her some time before shifting, slamming gears are hard on syncros, power shifting, full throttle shifting,

is he replacing his 3rd gear with the whole kit? slider hub,brass synchro,and gear it self? some people replace just the brass ring and that won't work cuz the slider hubs teeth can still be rounded as well as the gear itself. replace all of it is your best bet. nick
