do you think i will pass smog?
ok folks i have a 98 integra ls with a 2 1/4 inch high flow cat and 2 1/4 inch piping back to a stock ls muffler i have no resonator....everything else is stock...does anyone think i will fail smog with these two mods? hopfully someone with the same experiance or close to it can help me thanks for any input
well this is how i will put it.
if your motor will pass with the stock stuff on it, then you will still pass. i guess the best way to say this is, those mods willl not cause you to fail smog. but thats not saying you will pass, depends on the condition of the motor.

Okay....... Your muffler or resinator will have no effect on you emissions. You could have no ressinator and no muffler on the vehicle and you would still pass. The only thing that may cause you vehilce to fail is the aftermarket cat. converter you put on. Any OBDII cert. vehicle requires a cat. that is "OBDII certified" The california air resorce board (CARB) has not opproved any aftermarket OBDII cat converters yet. The onlything you can put on is an O.E cat or a certified remanufactured cat. I have hear rummors of Magnaflow or Carsound, possible gaining approval. If you are to fail. Chances are that it would be due to this. If your that nervious about it you can have you smog tech run a pre-test on your car before he actually tests it and sends the results into the DMV.
I dont know what cat you have on or if the aftermarket cat is even a 3 way cat. I would guess you have a 50-50 chance of passing. Although its gonna cost you alittle more, run a pre-test first.
Hope this helps.
