Default Just got back from the track....SOHC POWA!!!!!!

I went to the track today and got a pleasent suprise..a little info first on the car..
88 CRX Si... 2024 pounds with me in it.
91 A6 block, 93 Z6 head..its a mini-me Yo!
VIRGIN 91 PM6--no vtec maps!!!
ACT clutch and PP.
Running open crappy *** A6 header.
DIY short ram intake.
crappy *** tires.

My best run:

60'....2.281
330...6.251
1/8...9.643
mph..72.73
1000..12.594
1/4...15.156
mph..87.73

I couldnt believe it the best i thought i would do was a mid fifteen, and i figured that would have to be a PERFECT run. Then on my first run i pulled a 15.2, i literally jumped up and down...i couldnt friggin believe it, I had every body there giving props to the DIRTY SOHC!!!!

I ripped a raggedy convertible fox body and afterwards the kid came over to see what motor i had, I blurted out 1.6 SOHC and he was like "no way"...I quickly popped the hood and he was like "man that 's embarrasing"...MUHAHAHAHA!!!!

I did all the work on my car myself.. and it REALLY made it all worth while..

My plans for this season are:Y8 or Skunk2 IM, Z6 maps burnt into my ecu, BISI header, and a 65 shot until i have enough dough for my junkyard turbo setup...I also have some 20x8x14 slicks that i have to get mounted..im so excited to get it all together....SOHC POWA!!!!!!!!!

EDIT: if any body doesnt believe me i met some cool guys there that are on HT and they saw my hoooptie setup and they saw me run...BruceHungLow and a moderator by the name of Sean

People always say there buying stuff and upgrades until they can afford boost. Why buy a 400 nitrous kit when you can piece together a junkyard turbo for around 900?

Even thought I love nitrous because its cheap, easy and not a constant harm on your engine and hell of a lot easier to hide form the cops

cuz im one impatient S.O.B. LOL....plus i know i could easily sell it when i have enough for the turbo...but your right if i was wise i would just wait.i guess i have to make up my mind as to wich im REALLY going to do this season ...boost or spray...than i could cross out the bisi header too if i definately were too boost.

thats a really nice 60ft time, and it shows you how bad your 60 ft's can hurt you.

Me:

60ft: 2.45
1/4: 15.2 @ 92mph

I had horrible wheel hop,and couldnt launch, but i fixed that. Great times, hoping ill be in the 14's next time i go. I would do a obd1 swap, thats where i got my boost from, i dont see how a stock pm6 ran the head that well, mine ran a 16.5 with a stock ecu, and a switch for vtec. And that was with a good launch. hmmph...

actually my 60' wasnt that good ...i wanted to get it down to a low 2.2 or better yet 2.1.....and maybe then i could have ran a 14.999

how much time did you pick up at the track after your obd1 swap?

With the obd1 swap, it was weird, i went from just throwing the head on teh block, hooking up a switch for vtec, and running a 16.5, with a good launch, to a 15.2 with all the stuff i have done, which is the cam and had the head fully rebuilt, also the obd1 swap. Without that cam, i think i would have ran a 15.4 or so, but still, i gained at least a second with the obd1 swap, but im sure you wont have such a great gain as i did, i dont know what it was, but my stock si ecu jusst didnt give me ****. I ran a 16.2 bone stock a6, well, i/h/e. Soooo, i dunno, i cant really say, but i know a properly tuned 0bd0 minime can do just as good, but i didnt want to hassle with that.

i used a summit rpm activated switch...and you can chip the 90-91 pm6 ecu so thats what im gonna do ...send it to hyperduck and get the z6 maps burned on there
