What would YOU do? Color change from EBP to Lexus graphite....
What would you guys do in my situation? I'm here on my island. Keep in mind, the dollar goes a long way here. Anyway, here's my situation. There's a local paint shop down the road. I went there to get a quote to have stock Si rims painted that bad *** lexus graphite color. They said $100 to have the tires pulled off, sandblast the rims, clean 'em, re-shoot 'em with graphite, mount tires and balance. Not a bad deal. I'm probably gonna jump on that.
Just for the hell of it I asked what a complete paint job would cost. I have a bodykit that I got painted by wings west before I had it shipped. The EBP on the kit is just a shade lighter than the rest of the car. So to fix this I was gonna have them re-shoot the whole car EBP. They quoted me $650 to strip off all the old paint, pull off all the moldings, lights, take windows out, and repaint it. Not a bad deal if you ask me.
The only thing they won't do is pull the engine to shoot the engine bay. No biggie if staying this the same color. They'll do the door jams and the underside of the hood and stuff like that though. Now I've always loved that lexus graphite color and would love to get the car redone. Kinda like this guy did https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=744772
For $650 would you guys get the color change and drive around with a blue engine bay until you can get back to the states and have that done, or would you have the car done in EBP again? Just trying to see what you guys would do. I think I'm going to go with the color change, but that's me.

Portugal man. It's not really all that bad. I saw their paint mixing room. They can make any color you want. Looks just like a professional shop at home. They also have a downdraft paint booth with the IR lights that cure the paint after it's done getting painted. Damn nice setup. I looked at some of their cars they've done too. Better quality paint job than my civic has on it right now. Damn honda orange peel.
Gotta love that gray. I thought it was called antrhracite gray, though, like the supra color. I love it on any car! But, a miscolored engine bay will drive you nuts, believe me.
when i sprayed my car i didnt have enough paint to shoot the engine bay(ran out of money!!!) so i just shot everything else, but i pulled the motor later and just rattle canned it black, looks really good if its done right..

That's kinda what I'm thinking. When/IF I get back to the states I'm planning on pulling the motor anyway and give it a little makeover. I'd probablt just do it then. But as for right now I think I'm going to go with the color change.
I can't wait. Should be able to pull it into there in a month or so. I have some vacation time coming up where I won't need the car that much.
